Open Call: Fire Station Artists Intensive Study Programme (AISP) 2027 in Qatar is a fully funded, nine-month study programme for emerging visual artists. Led by Fire Station Artistic Director Wael Shawky, it is designed for a cohort of up to 25 Qatari and international participants.
Programme and eligibility
AISP combines multidisciplinary study, practical learning, critical thinking and professional development. Participants are expected to expand their artistic practice and produce and present work at the end of the programme.
Applications are open to emerging visual artists aged 18–35 from any country. Applicants need an established artistic practice, an interest in creative and intellectual challenges, and motivation to work collaboratively across disciplines.

- Attendance: Physical presence in Doha and attendance at all AISP events are mandatory
Funding for participants
There is no tuition or application fee. International participants are provided with flights, accommodation and a per diem for the nine-month period in Qatar. Fire Station also provides an invitation letter to assist with the visa process.

The jury evaluates application materials, artistic potential and alignment with the programme. Shortlisted local applicants may be interviewed in person, while international applicants may be interviewed through Zoom.
