The FIBA Basketball World Cup Qatar 2027 opens on 27 August and concludes with the final on 12 September at Lusail Multipurpose Hall. Four venues will host the tournament under event-specific arena names.
Understand the venue names
- Lusail Arena: Lusail Multipurpose Hall, the venue for the final.
- Duhail Arena: Duhail Sports Hall.
- Al Attiyah Arena: Ali Bin Hamad Al Attiyah Arena.
- Al Janoub Arena: Al Janoub, which will be converted from a football stadium for the basketball tournament.
The planned Al Janoub conversion includes more than 8,000 spectator seats. Knowing both sets of names helps visitors recognise the venues when comparing tournament information with their usual names.
