Tasweer Photography Festival - Frame and Focus Exhibition is a group exhibition presenting the final projects of 12 photographers who completed Tasweer’s 14-week Frame and Focus Advanced Photography Course. The exhibition brings documentary photography, portraiture, conceptual image-making and experimental visual storytelling together at Al Hosh Gallery in Doha.
Each project draws on the photographer’s cultural background and personal experience. Across the exhibition, the works consider place, community and contemporary life, with recurring themes including home, migration and identity.
What the exhibition explores
Several projects examine how people and communities preserve heritage across generations, experience displacement and maintain connections with culture and place. The featured works include Christophe Buffet’s Basateen Al-Freej, Jhenny Marian Laya Perez’s FULAN and Jaili Hajo’s We Too Have Wings.
The exhibition was co-curated by The VII Foundation and Abdulla Faisal Al Khalaf.
