Gulf Cup for Veteran Players Qatar 2026 offers a chance to watch established football names represent eight Gulf federations. Organised by the Gulf Football Federation (GFF) in collaboration with Qatar’s Local Organising Committee, the second edition features 15 matches from 30 October to 5 November 2026.
Teams and match format
Defending champions Iraq join Saudi Arabia, Oman and Kuwait in Group A. Hosts Qatar face UAE, Bahrain and Yemen in Group B, giving supporters a choice of regional teams to follow.
Each match has two 20-minute halves, with unlimited substitutions. Knockout matches that remain level after 40 minutes go to a penalty shoot-out. This shorter playing format may suit visitors looking to include football in a broader day of sightseeing.
Choosing a match
The tournament uses three venues: Grand Hamad Stadium, Hamad bin Khalifa Stadium and Saoud bin Abdulrahman Stadium. Two fixtures provide clear starting points for planning:
- Opening match: Qatar play Bahrain at Grand Hamad Stadium on 30 October at 5:30 pm.
- Final: 5 November at 7 pm at Saoud bin Abdulrahman Stadium.
Entry to matches is free, with no tickets needed. Seating is provided for disabled fans.
