Fanoon Artist Talks: Bahar Noorizadeh is a public artist lecture at Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art in Doha. Noorizadeh is the second invited artist in a four-artist programme examining research-driven approaches to contemporary artistic practice.
The wider Fanoon Artist Talks programme focuses particularly on architecture and infrastructure. It also begins a new collaboration between a museum and an arts university, connecting Mathaf with the Department of Fine Arts at VCUarts Qatar.
Programme format
The initiative combines public lectures with an accompanying seminar:
- Artist lectures: Open to all members of the public
- Seminar: Open to students across Education City
- Seminar leader: Writer and curator Tirdad Zolghadr
- Programme focus: Research-driven artistic practices, architecture and infrastructure
By moving between Mathaf and VCUarts Qatar, the programme creates a connection between museum and school settings. The format supports continued discussion about contemporary artistic practice and approaches to arts education.
The Bahar Noorizadeh talk may suit visitors interested in contemporary art, artistic research, architecture, infrastructure or the relationship between museums and universities.
