EcoHeroes Film Challenge 2026 invites aspiring filmmakers of all experience levels to turn an environmental idea into an original short film. Held in connection with Qatar Sustainability Week, the third annual challenge combines team filmmaking with a public screening opportunity and judging.
What your team will create
Teams of four to six participants must produce a film lasting three minutes or less. The story should explore environmental responsibility by presenting a solution for a greener future or showing the consequences of environmental waste. Participation is open to ages six and over. Individuals can register to be matched with a team.
Competition prizes include the chance to win a professional camera kit valued at USD 5,000. Winning entries may also have opportunities to be featured at international film festivals; selection is not guaranteed.
Participation and key dates
The programme has two stages: a kick-off and a film screening. The registered team leader must attend both. The kick-off begins at 14:00 on 31 October 2026 at Hilton Doubletree, Al Sadd, Doha. Completed films must be submitted online by 12:00 on 7 November 2026.

Food and drinks are available to purchase at the events, with cash and credit cards accepted.
