Ajyal at DFF 2026 offers two ways for young people to engage with cinema: a festival-long jury programme and a shorter film club organised by age. Presented by Doha Film Institute, the programmes combine watching films with discussion, while differing in their activities and time commitment.
Choose the programme for your age
Ajyal Jury, ages 16–25: participants watch international films, discuss them and vote for the official awards. The programme runs from 19–27 November, with weekday afternoon sessions lasting around three hours and longer sessions on weekends.
Ajyal Film Club: Festival Edition, ages 8–15: participants explore films through screenings, creative activities and conversations in age-specific groups. Each group attends a three-day programme:
- Mohaq, ages 8–11: 20, 21 and 22 November.
- Hilal, ages 12–15: 23, 24 and 25 November.
Registration and participation fees
Registration for both programmes runs from 13 September to 8 November 2026. The Film Club costs QAR 150. The Jury standard fee is QAR 500, with a reduced fee of QAR 350 per participant when siblings participate in the Jury programme together.
For travel planning, the Film Club provides a three-day commitment tied to the participant’s age group, while the Jury spans nine days. Katara Cultural Village is the event venue.
